a. hartrodt South Africa (Pty) Ltd is a wholly owned subsidiary of a. hartrodt (GmbH & Co) KG founded in Germany in 1887. Today the group still remains a private partnership employing over 1200 people worldwide.

The company has been forwarding cargo into South Africa on behalf of German manufacturers since early last century and has been directly involved in the South African market since the mid-nineteen sixties by way of Sales & Marketing delegates based in South Africa. In 1981 it was decided to register a. hartrodt South Africa (Pty) Ltd and today apart from our Johannesburg head office we have branch offices in Cape Town, Durban and Port Elizabeth, with a longstanding agent in East London. Due to growing confidence in the future of South and Southern Africa it was decided in 1990 to increase our commitment in South Africa by investing in the design and construction of a head office and secure warehouse (300 sq m) complex. Due to sustained growth these premises were renovated and expanded upon in 1997, and in early 2003 an additional and adjacent office and airfreight terminal (1 000 sq m) complex was purchased and purpose renovated. These buildings are in Jet Park, close to OR Tambo International Airport.

In conjunction with both our local and international offices and partners we are well able to provide our clients with the full range of international forwarding services - seafreight and airfreight forwarding, customs clearing, insurance, warehousing, local and cross border deliveries.
