Confederação das Associações Económicas de MozambiqueConfederation of Business Associations of MozambiqueMCLI Non-Executive Board MemberThe CTA - Confederation of Business Associations was founded, partly as a result of the adoption of the Programme of Economic Rehabilitation (PRE), in 1987, when Mozambique becomes a country of centrally planned economy to a country with economy of market. As part of the mentioned policy of market economy, Mozambique has implemented a programme of privatization of companies. The adoption of this model of economy was not accompanied by sequenced changes of policies and regulations that guided the actions of business. Many businessman used to contact directly to the Ministers and other officials of the Government to solve apparently individual problems , but was common to the most entrepreneurs. Motivated in finding a coordinating forum to work together with the government and persuade the adoption of new laws to create a better environment for business, was created by the Working Committee of Associations in 1996 and the CTA - the Confederation of Business Associations of Mozambique, incorporated on 5 April 1999, to meet these challenges of the implementation of economy of market. The CTA is an non-governmental Business organization, , without party, whose the mission is to contribute to the Business and social development of Mozambique, based on the growth of the private sector, in particular by promoting and protecting the opportunities for business and corporate culture and associations.
