The Company

MF Enterprises (Pty) Ltd (MFE) is a 100% Black Economic Empowerment Company (BEE) investment holding company, incorporated under the laws of South Africa, founded by Mr Faizal Motlekar to seek economic opportunities in the Southern Africa region, as espoused by the South African Government's BEE strategy. This strategy seeks to open up the economy to ensure that Previously Disenfranchised Persons are afforded the opportunity to participate in the mainstream of the economy. MFE makes its investments on a consortium basis in line with the Brood-based Black Economic Empowerment Act of 2003 (Act). These groupings include rural women, disabled people, non-governmental organisations, etc. MFE also makes use of black professionals such as investment bankers, entrepreneurs, corporate financiers who can add value and capacity to target companies. This ensures transformation of target companies at all levels.

The company is headquartered in the financial hub of Africa in Florida, Johannesburg. Since our inception MFE has established and invested in associated and subsidiary organisation in several and diversified sectors and disciplines. These include food and beverages, telecommunications, mining, property development and management, fishing, and information technology. These investments are done off balance sheet and through financial institutions both in the private and the public sector.

MFE embraces the five pillars of BEE and encourages target companies to adhere to these. They form the cornerstone of the Act and they are essential for the economic transformation of the South African society. These pillars are ownership and control, employment equity, affirmative transformation, enterprise development, and social responsibility.

What sets MFE apart from many BEE companies is its insistence on aspects such as operational involvement, ethics, and good corporate governance as espoused on the King 2 Report on Corporate Governance.

MFE has built extensive contacts in the public sector through our associated companies, which will prove vital for future transactions.

Our corporate philosophy reflects the spirit of MFE. It describes our culture, i.e. the attitudes and beliefs we maintain in our target companies and the communities where we conduct our affairs. It is the foundation for our policies and our actions.
