Company History

Nomad Freight was founded in 1984 by the Chairman, Mr Simon Avis, with import and export forwarding as the initial basis of business. Our Head Office is based in Johannesburg and we currently have two South African Branch offices in Durban and Beit Bridge respectively.

We are an independent, locally owned, accredited Clearing Agent and International Freight Forwarder.

We obtained ISO9000:1994 Certification in 1997 and have subsequently upgraded to ISO9001:2000, ensuring that internationally accepted standards are continually updated and maintained. Customer satisfaction is our number one priority and includes obtaining and providing the best rates possible whilst ensuring always that our service levels are not compromised.

Our Board is comprised of three Directors whose management style is very much “hands on”. This is achieved by remaining totally involved in the operations and day to day running of the company.

Our company prides itself on it's ability to retain staff on a long term basis and this ensures continuity, dedication and a wide range of skills acquired over the years, all contributing to providing a top quality service to our customers.

Central African Shipping LTD ("CASA") was harnessed in Harare in 1995 to facilitate Nomad Freight's client's business interests in Zimbabwe in general. Main cargoes handled are cotton, tobacco and copper.
