Tirisano Consulting Engineers

Background

Tirisano Consulting Engineers was established by Anton Kloppers and Lucky Jacobs as a black empowerment consulting engineering practice. Since only 4% of the professional engineers in South Africa are from the previously disadvantaged communities, the ownership of Tirisano ensures not only technological excellence, but also needs driven social awareness.

Project Philosophy

With more than twenty years experience in various engineering disciplines and almost ten years experience in social matters, community facilitation and local/regional government, the directors of Tirisano recognise the uniqueness of every project and therefor provide the technical and social services and advice tailored according to the client’s needs and requirements.

The success of a project lies not only in the achievement of its original goals, but also in the continuance to do so throughout its lifetime. This necessitates follow-ups and evaluations to ensure proper maintenance.

The quality of a contractor’s work has a decisive impact on the overall quality of a project. Where clients favour the appointment of emerging contractors, Tirisano not only performs the conventional tasks of supervision, but also actively becomes involved in the quality assurance programme empowering the contractor and addressing the client’s needs.

The expertise within Tirisano ranges from engineering fields such as:

  • Structures (including steel- and concrete structures and masonry buildings)

And includes services from the identification and prioritisation of projects, conceptual planning, preliminary design, detail design and construction of projects.

The management of Tirisano had been involved in projects for clients ranging from the private sector to NGO’s, local government, district councils and central government.

Tirisano also has expertise in the facilitation and community liaison processes.

Where the nature of a project requires specialised services that are not available from within Tirisano, joint ventures are formed with specialist companies of the client’s choice.

State of the art computer software packages are used.

The offices of Tirisano are situated in Middelburg and Ermelo.
