Background

Ulusha Projects (Pty) Ltd was formed in 1999 as a black empowerment company focussing on four sectors of industry, namely Construction, Energy, Tourism and Mining. A joint venture was formed between Ulusha Projects and Grinaker-LTA on an equal profit shareholding basis.

Profile

Ulusha Projects’ Head Office is in Nelspruit, has a staff complement of 10 and is 100% black owned. The company has grown rapidly under the leadership of Mr Nick Elliot, the Managing Director. Mr Elliot is a well known and respected business man in Mpumalanga. Mr Elliot is currently also the

Director of Vuka Ramanas (Pty) Ltd.

Formerly he was Deputy Chairman of NAFCOC Nelspruit Branch and in 2004 he received the Business Personality of the Year award from the Lowveld Chamber of Business and Commerce. He was also elected Board Member of LCBT for 2007/8.

Ulusha believes that experienced organisations should assist to provide opportunities for previously disadvantaged individuals and emerging businesses should enter and play a meaningful role in the economy of South Africa.

Activities

The following projects were completed by Ulusha in joint venture with Grinaker-LTA:

Crocodile Bridge, Kruger National Park
Lower Sabie Bridge, Kruger National Park
Road Rehabiliation, Bethal - Standerton
Bethal - Kriel Road
Moloto Road

The following projects were completed by UIusha independently:

Access Road - Kruger International Airport
Roads Rehabilitation - N4 Road Rehab
Earthworks - Emnotweni Hotel
Temane–Secunda-Sasol Gas pipeline
Mgcobaneni Reservoir
Sappi Ngodwana Waste Yard Extension

Ulusha is currently constructing the Kiaat Buyelani Reservoir.
