Mpumalanga Freight Logistics Forum: Draft Minutes

Of The Working Group Meeting: 12 September 2007

Dear MCLI Reader

The September meeting of the Working Group of the Mpumalanga Freight Logistics Forum (MFLF) took place on the 12th of September with issues affecting the Lebombo/Ressano Garcia border post occupying much of the discussion at meeting. A development which is of interest is the activities of the Transport Forums of the Ehlanzeni and Ekangala District Municipalities which appear to be underway, with a commitment to include freight issues in these forums.

The draft minutes of the meeting and relevant annexures are available here.

Stakeholders are alerted to the Logistics Focus and Update Event on the Maputo Corridor which will take place on Thursday the 18th of October 2007 at the Promenade Hotel in Nelspruit.  This event will provide a review of the progress made with regard to freight movement on the Maputo Corridor and, as well as providing an opportunity for an update on the activities and achievements of the MFLF since its launch in October 2006, will provide a excellent networking opportunity with freight logistics stakeholders in the region.

The Mpumalanga Freight Logistics Forum is the mechanism through which the National Freight Logistics Strategy is being implemented in the province. Should you wish to participate in the forum, kindly contact the Secretariat at barbara.mommen@mcli.co.za
