Chamber of Mines of South Africa
The Chamber of Mines is a member-based private sector employer association that represents companies operating in the South African mining industry. The Chamber exists primarily to represent and lobby for its members on policy and legislative matters of a collective industry interest.
The advantage of being represented by the Chamber of Mines is that it reflects the collective thinking of all industry leaders on policy and legislative matters, thereby presenting a coherent position on these issues when liaising with government and other stakeholders. Representation through the Chamber also enables members to focus on their operational and company specific matters, leaving the broader issues to be managed by the Chamber.
The Chamber is staffed by a group of professionals who enjoy the confidence and respect of the policy makers and various stakeholders who operate in legislative and public administration space. Our effective team specializes in areas that include mine health and safety, sustainable development, skills development, legal issues, environmental management, economics, labour relations and communications.
